STUDY PERMIT
Most foreign people who wish to study at a university or college, or take any course of academic, professional or vocational training in Canada must apply for a study permit at visa offices abroad before arriving in Canada.
Requirements
- You will leave Canada at the end of your period of authorized stay;
- You have been accepted by an educational institution and hold a valid letter of acceptance;
- You must prove that you have enough money from your own source and/or from your parents to pay for: tuition fee, living expenses, return transportation.
Not everyone needs a study permit
Not everyone is required to obtain a study permit before they arrive at a Port of Entry. For a list of people who may apply at the port of entry and for a list of people eligible to apply in Canada, please consult us.
If the program of studies is six months or less, a study permit is not required.
Custodianship for minor student
All minor applicants must supply a notarized declaration, one signed by the parents or legal guardians in the country of origin, as well as one signed by the custodian in Canada, stating that arrangements have been made for the custodian to act in place of a parent. Officers must be satisfied that adequate arrangements are in place for the care and support of those who are unable to support themselves.
We can help you to apply for a new Study Permit, renew your Study Permit, or change the conditions and restrictions in your Study Permit. We can also help you to prepare Declarations, Custodianship Declaration, and all other documents in support of your application.
